Job Summary: Coordinate efforts in providing primary prevention programming and education to the community at large. Manage DASI’s social media accounts and Chair the Social Media Committee.
The prevention and education coordinator will work collaboratively with DASI staff and the Sussex County Strength Without Violence Community (SWVC) Alliance in providing primary prevention/education/awareness programming, outreach and community mobilization efforts in the Sussex County Community.
Responsibilities Prevention and Education Services
- Present prevention/educational programs and facilitate prevention/educational groups for youth in schools both in-person and online.
· Coordinate and present primary prevention/education programming and activities to community organizations, professionals, and institutions as needed.
· Develop up to date educational curricula. Develop and update training presentations as needed and store them on the Prevention Education folder on SharePoint.
· Plan and implement awareness campaigns and community mobilization projects for significant times/events such as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Week, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Crime Victims’ Rights Week.
· Ensure evaluation forms are completed and summarized after presentations.
· Maintain prevention/education data and service records.
· Schedule and coordinate all tabling events and ensure coverage by either yourself, team member of Prevention, other DASI team member or trained volunteers.
· Represent DASI at state level primary prevention meetings and functions in person and via online platforms. Actively contribute to state level work in the area of prevention.
· Coordinate coalition building and maintain coalition cohesiveness (Sussex County SWV Community Alliance).
General & Administrative
· Compile and submit monthly statistical reports to funders in a timely manner utilizing designated software program.
· Submit monthly staff report in a timely manner.
· Responsible for implementation and maintenance of prevention/education outcome data and analysis.
· Assist grant writer/manager with funding requirements.
· Assist in orientation and supervision of new staff, interns, and volunteers as needed.
· Provide accurate time and activity documentation.
· Assess prevention program needs and manage expenses based on program budget.
· Organize and maintain prevention materials including brochures and promotional items.
· Coordinate the translation of brochures and other prevention materials into other languages.
· May be required to drive the agency van as needed.
Supervision/Support
· Recognize need for, seek and arrange supervision meetings with supervisor weekly. Use and accept feedback, integrate input into practice.
· Come to supervision meeting prepared to discuss issues of concern.
· Chair DASI’s Marketing/Social Media committee.
· Provide supervision to other team members in the prevention education program.
Outreach/Public Relations
· Maintain knowledge of existing community and other resources and develop new resources.
· Work with the development team to create a yearly events and communication plan.
· Responsible for DASI’s presence on social media including developing a social media strategy and making all social media postings.
· Develop and implement public relations campaigns in conjunction with the development team.
- Provide outreach to business community and civic organizations for educational/awareness purposes.
· Assist in other public relations efforts as needed.
· Arrange for media presence at DASI awareness events.
· Present in-service trainings to other agencies as needed in person and via online platforms.
· Be involved in coordination and presentation of youth conferences and workshops.
Program Development
· Identify and report trends in community needs and gaps in service.
· Participate in program development as needed.
· Assist in preparation of grant proposals and special projects as needed.
· Participate in technical assistance and trainings relevant to primary prevention and coalition building.
Professional
· Attend agency staff meetings and functions.
· Flex hours as needed to meet needs of the agency and community.
· Take responsibility for professional growth and development by attending conferences, seminars, and/or educational programs to increase knowledge and improve skills relating to domestic and sexual violence.
· Remain open to self-examination, recognize strengths and limitations, recognize use of self in relation to clients.
· Honor confidentiality and code of ethics as per employee handbooks.

Qualifications
· Public speaking or teaching experience required; social media experience required; experience in domestic violence and/or sexual violence intervention field preferred; Domestic Violence Specialist certification a plus.
· Valid driver’s license required; Reliable vehicle and proof of current auto insurance may be required.
· Computer skills required (Office 365, Canva or other graphic design software).
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
· Requires the ability and willingness to complete 80-hour domestic and sexual violence intervention training course within three months of hire.
· Requires flexibility in hours to respond to agency priorities and community needs. Must be available during school hours to present educational and outreach services to youth in the Sussex County school system.
· Demonstrate an openness to a feminist analysis of domestic and sexual violence and of the economic, social, situational, and emotional barriers encountered by survivors.
· Demonstrate an openness to work within a strength-based framework of empowerment.
· Commitment to cultural humility is required.

DASI reserves the right to change job duties and responsibilities as needed due to agency needs and/or funding conditions or requirements.
Position will be mostly performed in the community or at DASI locations, some work may be performed remotely.
