Social Media Strategist wanted! We’re looking for a team member that loves social media, can advise others on social media strategies and can analyze and recommend strategies to increase engagement. This position is onsite in Norfolk, VA.

Job tasks/responsibilities:

• Develop social media calendars and posts

• Create reports that evaluate and measure the effectiveness of communications objectives and goals

• Provide expert guidance and recommendations in the use of efficient methods for posting content to popular social media sites.

• Provide recommendations on mobile web application development, graphic design, video production and editing, and integration of audio and video into websites with tools for sharing content.

• Participate in daily status meetings, providing status updates to senior staff as required.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on all aspects of social media

• Make recommendations on best practices for enhancing and increasing current social media and the marketing presence

• Facilitate small groups of staff and other professionals as required to address specific social media projects

• Coordinate the networking of social media sites for all users

• Create and maintain an electronic document/content library for social media products (graphics, logos, videos and such) produced

• Develop a comprehensive social media communication plan

• Engage in online social media networking discussions and assist with populating social media sites as required

• Create and provide weekly, monthly/quarterly and annual analytic metrics of websites and social media sites

• Submit a monthly status report

• Provide graphics design and visual information products to include video editing capabilities and graphics integration

Minimum requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent military or commercial experience

• Three years of experience with social networking and search engine optimization

• Recent project experience in government or corporate internal /external communications.

• Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) including preparation and presentation of high-level briefings through the use of MS PowerPoint.

• Possess strong writing, editing, graphic and web design skills to create and post content that is free of formatting, grammar, and design errors.

• Proficient with social media platforms, programs, developing social media calendars, audio, visual and written content for posting and sharing

• Knowledge of how to create, manage social media analytic reports (familiarity with third-party tools is a plus)

• Familiarity with DVIDS is a plus

• Possess team player approach to problem solving.

• Must have excellent communications skills and be fluent in both oral and written English.

• Must have a security clearance
