McKinnon Law Firm is seeking Social Security Online Appeal and Application Processors with at least 2 years of SSD experience. Social security/agency experience in disability with field office OHA/ODAR/OHO or experience with a Social Security Agency or law firm is required. This position can be performed at any of our office locations in Fayetteville, Russellville, or Fort Smith. This position can be part-time or full time.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay is $13 to $23 an hour based upon your needs and personal preferences of hourly/salary or per appeal/application and how much time you have to devote to helping us help our clients.
• Benefits are offered to full-time employees.

Responsibilities:

• Ask clients questions about their case, medical history, prescription history, and other questions related to submitting a Social Security Benefits Application.
• Collect information about medical history from clients. Contact medical facilities to have documents sent, to check on status, and see where the docs are within the process. Consistent follow-up until documents are received.
• Routinely interact with Social Security employees to provide information pertinent to the processing of the claim as well as to perform status checks.
• Review and identify information that should be confirmed and collected to submit a SSD appeal.
• Submit documentation to the attorney for review.
• Review and enter notes into the system for each contact made on the client’s behalf.
• Answer phone calls from clients, return voicemails, and texts.
• Communication with clients, team, medical facilities, and the Social Security Administration.

Requirements:

• 2 years of legal experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, lawyer, or social security administration employee
• 2 years of social security & disability experience (ERE or AR or online appeals/apps)
• Knowledge of Social Security Application and Appeals Process, constitution, legal terminology, regulations, and court systems
• Experience working with Needles software is a plus
• Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology
• Passion for helping people that need help and providing ethical, excellent client care for deserving claimants.
• Comfortable working in a paperless environment
• Maintain client confidentiality
• Must be attentive to detail and input data with 100% accuracy
• Interact, communicate, and build rapport with clients
• Thrive in a fast-paced office environment that works individually and as a team
• Detail-oriented and able to organize, prioritize, focus, and complete tasks
