Social Services Coordinator Job at Barrington Mews
As a RESIDENT SOCIAL SERVICES COORDINATOR for our apartment community you will be responsible for organizing resident events that help create a homey and welcoming environment at our community. You will be an integral part of our team focusing primarily ongoing resident services programs and fostering positive relationships with our residents.
A Social Service Coordinator links tenants within the project to supportive services or medical services provided by public agencies or private practitioners within the general community. The service coordinator may assess service needs, determine eligibility for public services, and work.
Successfully run and restock food pantry on a weekly basis
To successfully fulfill your role as Resident Services Coordinator, you should expect to perform the following duties:
- Offer excellent customer service by understanding our residents' needs.
- Prepare and distribute quarterly Community Newsletter and any other resident communication.
- Organize weekly resident activities
- Utilize available resources through local agencies and programs to maximize the services our communities offer.
Resident Services Coordinator Minimum qualifications:
- Creativity
- Show care and sensitivity to seniors.
- Be able to deescalate issues in a professional and meaningful way.
- Ability to organize events and activities.
- Must be energetic and enthusiastic
- Must be resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult situations
MULTI-YEAR EXPERIANCE A MUST
(1) Qualification of a service coordinator:
A. Training in the aging process, elder services, disability services, eligibility for and procedures of Federal and applicable State entitlement programs, legal liability issues relating to providing service coordination, drug and alcohol use and abuse by the elderly, and mental health issues.
B. Two to three years’ experience in social service delivery with senior citizens and non-elderly disabled.
C. Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve and provide results for the elderly and disabled served.
D. Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources for senior citizens .
