Summary:
This clinician will have clinical supervision of the LCSW's in the Outpatient Department of Psychiatry in Norwalk. Will provide supervison as needed, review clinical documentation, and help manager develop and grow new programs. Review documentation for the other social workers to maintain compliance as well as provide education on clinical documentation.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise/oversee other Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and assist with the development of clinical programs.
2. Provides individual, couples, families and group psychotherapy to help maintain patients in their homes and/or communities and to facilitate improved mental health. Assesses emergencies (such as suicidality, homicidality) by appropriate clinical evaluation, intervention and
triage to psychiatric services.
3. Provides psychological evaluations and assessments to patients; utilizes and models evidence based practices.
4. Documents charting requirements to meet Quality Improvement and compliance objectives by the department and external agencies and to assure optimal clinical and administrative record keeping.
5. Collaborates with the department Financial Counselor, clerical staff and third party payors to assure payment for clinical services rendered.
6. Collaborates with other health care providers to facilitate the appropriate focus of care based on clinical severity of patient pathology.
7. Protects the confidentiality of patient's clinical record to comply with department and government regulations and to assure patient satisfaction.
8. Achieves the organizations established expectations with regard to quality service, teamwork and self development.
9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
