Duration: 12+months (Extension Possibility)

Shift: Wednesday-Friday (7:45AM-4:15PM) and Saturday-Sunday (3:45PM-00:15AM)

must be willing to work every weekend as scheduled. No exceptions to this requirement

Working some holidays may be required if it falls on a normal workday.

Job training will be provided.

This position can be remote, but preferably in-office at the downtown Des Moines campus.

Description:

• Possess a high degree of integrity and actively cooperate and interact with all entities.

• These same requirements may also apply to other positions across the organization.

• 3 years related (Operations) work experience, or Technical Schooling and/or 2-year college degree preferred.

• Experience: Proven experience as an IT professional with a strong technical aptitude

• Must have advanced planning/organizational, problem-solving, analytical, time management, decision making, and communication skills

• Advanced computer skills required

• Basic leadership skills preferred, along with the ability to work with little or no supervision

• Should be able to make recommendations for process improvements on a regular basis

• Must be able to maintain accuracy and confidentiality

Responsibilities:

Under general supervision continue learning requirements and tasks that relate to the configuration of the vendor application(s) supported by your team. Continue to grow basic understanding of the technical aspects including, but not limited to, performance, capacity, recovery, operations, configuration, and security.

• Start to understand how tool(s) fit into the larger system/service delivery.

• Work with Product Owner(s) and team to maintain and build functionality within the vendor software, supported by your team, to meet the needs and requirements of the business while maximizing effectiveness. Start demonstrating customer understanding.

• Growing a deeper understanding and execution of technology functions including performance, capacity, recovery, operations, configuration and/or security.

• Understand the functionality of their platform and stay abreast of platform roadmap/developments in related solutions.

• Begin to understand the data in the tool(s).

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Monitor system activity and evaluate alerts to quickly resolve issues.
• Help to support the efforts of Developers and Engineers. Provide your insights and respond to questions and requests.
• Perform other job-related duties, support functions, or projects as needed.
• Follow procedures and address documentation inconsistencies.
• Adapt to changes in technology and the tools we use.
• In addition to Mainframe monitoring, the TOC (TechOps Center) also provides foundational services including Network monitoring; File Gateway monitoring (FTP); Distributed (Server) monitoring; Incident Coordination; and Disaster Recovery functions.
