We are hiring a Sous Chef to help our culinary team prepare and serve a variety of unique dishes for our event center. This position requires flexibility and adaptability, as the Sous Chef must be willing to assume any role when necessary in order to ensure that all food orders are prepared and served before their deadline. A successful candidate will have previously worked in a busy restaurant environment, be familiar with a wide variety of cooking methods and possess strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Work with other cooks to arrive at a desired dish.
- Prepare food in a timely manner.
- Properly plan and determine quantities needed for events on weekly bases
- Daily review of Calendar and BEOs for changes, special requests, etc.
- Be able to explain dishes to wait staff and customers.
- Monitor the status of the kitchen and notifies the head chef if there is a problem.
- Communicate regularly with other cooks, servers, and managers.
Working Hours
The Business hours of the JEBCC are from 8am-5pm Monday – Friday and Event hours are Monday – Sunday. Our guests, visitors, vendors and technicians need to be able to speak and meet with our staff during Business hours. The Sous Chef is required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week; overtime is only permitted if necessary. The kitchen staff has to be available from 8am-5pm, unless the booked event schedule requires it otherwise. One kitchen employee has to be in house during working hours and one Kitchen employee has to be available during Event Hours until food has been served and guests are through the line. Work Schedule must be done Friday before the new work week.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
