Job Summary/Description:
WDTV in Clarksburg is looking for a passionate sports storyteller. is growing its sports team. We are looking for a sports multimedia journalist to join a team that covers local high school sports, including West Virginia's longest running football highlights show, West Virginia University, and several local college teams.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Shoot & edit daily sports content for multiple newscasts and digital properties as an MMJ
- Develop and grow sources to effectively report and break sports news with local high school, college, and regional professional teams
- Collaborate with Sports Director, News Managers, Producers and Technical Staff to ensure sports stories are as compelling as possible
- Operate portable live units, and conduct clean, engaging live reports from the field
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of BIG 12 players and coaches
- Contribute to and help grow the digital presence of WDTV Sports
- Anchor sports on weekend evenings
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers, producers and co-workers
- Must be an excellent writer
- Knowledge of journalism ethics and legal issues
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and possess the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Must possess a valid Driver's License with a good driving record
