Valley Landscaping is seeking a Spray Technician with chemical fertilization or pesticide industry experience to work with our residential and commercial customers. We are interested in an individual who has knowledge in the Horticulture field. This position would directly report to the Branch Manager and would be responsible for performing applications to tree, turf, and shrubs.

Responsibilities:

• Mixing and applying turf and tree/shrub care products
• Applying fertilizers and insecticides to turf and plants following safety procedures and label instructions
• Preparing and applying horticultural chemicals to insure proper growing conditions for plants
• Demonstrate reliable communication with customers, quick to follow-up, polite and respectful of clients
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of chemical application practices
• Ensure the job completion is to Tuckahoe Landscaping’s standards within the time frame allotted
• Thorough record keeping
• Time management

Requirements:

• 1 year experience with chemical or spray application preferred
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid VA Pesticide License or ability to obtain one in 90 days
• Possess knowledge of calibration of application equipment, including but not limited to, Z-Max sprayers, push spreader, backpack sprayers/dusters
• Excellent communication and listening skills, problem solving skills, and ability to collaborate with others
• Record keeping and organizational skills
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Ability to scout for pests and disease
