What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for gathering information and responding to Federal and State income tax audits and notices
- Conduct tax research, draw conclusions and prepare memorandums to support tax positions
- Preparation of the various monthly tax roll-forwards (income tax payable, franchise tax payable, etc.)
- Prepare corporate and partnership income tax returns
- Provide support for the completion of special tax projects including income tax projects
- Gather and communicate data for various tax audits
- Other ad hoc projects as assigned
What we need from you:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of accounting/tax experience
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
- Ability to identify relevant facts and issues and communicate them effectively to management
- Knowledge to address and resolve everyday tax issues
- Ability to present solutions related to basic issues to management including risk analysis
- Ability to communicate with federal, state and local jurisdictions in a professional manner
What we also value (preferred):
- Master’s Degree in Accounting/Tax
- CPA or ability to sit for the CPA Exam
- Knowledge of Federal and state laws and compliance reporting in states that AMC operates
- Experience with accounting software and Oracle
