SR Audiologist (Pediatric Specialty) Job at UC Davis Health
UC Davis Health’s department of Audiology provides a full range of Audiology services for all ages to support local community and Otolaryngology needs. The Audiology clinic is located on the main UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento, and we have two satellite clinics in Natomas and Rocklin.

Current California State Dispensing Audiologist License or eligible for licensure. ( License must be obtained within 6 months from the date of hire. Failure to obtain licensure may result in termination.)

Demonstrated experience performing diagnostic audiologic evaluations

Demonstrated experience performing pediatric diagnostic evaluations utilizing special pediatric test procedures
-
Ability to operate audiologic equipment. including. but not limited to, two channel audiometers, middle ear analyzers, otoacoustic emissions equipment hearing aid analyzers, ABR/ASSR equipment, and newborn hearing screening equipment

Professional education and clinical experience necessary to interpret the results of audiologic evaluations, assess individual patients’ needs for services including cochlear implants and amplification.

Professional knowledge and clinical experience necessary to choose appropriate amplification and dispense hearing aids and provide ancillary hearing aid services with pediatric emphasis.

Demonstrated experience performing cochlear implants evaluations, activations and follow up services with pediatric emphasis.

Ability to assess aided hearing performance utilizing a real ear measurements, electroacoustic analysis and functional gain measurements and the knowledge to interpret the’ results obtained from these measurements.

Ability to make ear mold impressions and the knowledge to choose appropriate ear molds and custom shell designs with pediatric emphasis.

Knowledge and skill necessary to perform in-office repairs and modifications on ear molds and hearing aids

Familiarity with current hearing aids and assistive listening devices including programmable/digital hearing aids and the software necessary to fit them.

Continuing professional education necessary to maintain a high level of expertise in the areas of audiology and hearing aid dispensing.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families.

Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other health care providers

Organization skills necessary to maintain accurate records related to patient care.

Paneling by California Children’s Services (CCS) or eligible

Must be able to work overtime and variable hours when necessary

This position is currently not eligible for flex time hours

Must be flexible to cover other areas of clinic, including satellite clinics
-
Works with co-workers, patients, and physicians in a professional manner

Respects privacy and confidentiality of others

Must be able to work under stressful conditions

Expected to understand and comply with the UCDH and Department Policy and Procedure Manual

This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
