About the Role

Uber Freight Sr. Carrier Manager II works strategically with Transportation Management and Consulting customers to gain an understanding of their specific transportation procurement challenges to support the end-to-end execution of transportation procurement events – from strategy to post-bid (Hypercare) carrier performance management. Managing and building strong relationships, with core carriers, is critical to this process.


What the Candidate Will Do

Carrier Relationship Management

  • Develop and enhance relationships with core carriers
  • Participate and lead in the development of capacity solutions for Uber Freight Clients
  • Administration and coordination of onsite and virtual meetings for external carriers

Carrier Performance Management

  • Conduct monthly or quarterly business reviews with core carriers
  • Distribute and monitor monthly or quarterly carrier scorecards

Internal Analytical Support

  • Analysis of bid data, carrier classifications, year over year comparisons
  • Data Mining including carrier classifications, specialty score carding, historical information and other Uber Freight data

Procurement Support

  • End-to-End Strategy and Execution of Uber Freight facilitated transportation procurement events (RFP and mini-bids)
  • Recommend new carriers based on Uber Freight data analysis and knowledge of the Shipper’s network and transportation market

Travel

  • Some travel will be required

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years or more analyzing and managing Truckload transportation, either at a shipper, carrier or 3PL. Knowledge of truckload industry, major carriers, cost drivers, and best practices
  • Exemplary analytical skills, comfortable analyzing data and presenting findings and recommendations effectively in both verbal and written communications
  • Knowledge of Market trends and Economic forecast to educate customer and to be on leading edge to affect forecast of capacity needs
  • Expertise in transportation procurement and use of technology to execute bid events
