H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks a Sr. Project Engineer with 10+ years of experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and coordination of work on multidiscipline projects ranging from due diligence/site feasibility studies, site engineering, through regulatory approvals and full permitting for full range of site development projects.
• Develop site layout and design, including site grading and storm drainage, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure, erosion and sediment control.
• Prepare hydrology and hydraulic calculations and be knowledgeable of NYSDEC storm water drainage and SWPPP requirements.
• Perform project administration including writing reports, gathering information, writing proposals & correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• Prepare engineer's opinion of probable costs for designed projects.
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bids.
• Coordinate with other engineering and architectural departments within the firm.
• Relationship building and communication directly with clients in support and coordination of all project activities.
• Working both independently and as a team with other professionals and technicians dependent on project/task.
• Responsible for the on-time, on budget, high quality technical delivery of all project requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, Autoturn, Excel, and Photoshop.
• 10+ years design experience with a specific focus on the site development projects and a thorough understanding of the entitlement processes in Long Island
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas.
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within project teams.
• Team-spirited, focused and able to make independent decisions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• EIT/PE desired.
