Robert Half is seeking an ambitious, experienced Staff Accountant for a permanent position within a prestigious Real Estate & Property company. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Eden Prairie, Minnesota area, at a company where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every day

• Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
• Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
• Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
• Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
• Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
• Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
• Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
• Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
• Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
• Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
• Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
• Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Strong attention to detail
• Skilled with ERP systems
• Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
• 10 Key Accounting experience
• Microsoft Excel experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of QuickBooks
• Comprehensive knowledge of Construction Accounting
• Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Deep understanding of Excel Formulas
• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
