We are looking for a skilled and motivated IP architect to help development our high-performance
compute solutions and drive ideas from concept through implementation. In this role you will critically analyze compute architectures for performance, robustness and efficiency; collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure development of an industry leading solution meeting Mercedes-Benz vehicle requirements. Finally, you will also be the technical interface to our Silicon Company partners and be at the forefront of innovation as a connector between the Silicon Valley and our R&D units worldwide.
Job Responsibilities:
- Synthesis of Key Performance Indicators: throughput, latency, bandwidth, power
- Computer architecture simulation and exploration using EDA tools
- Deliver a virtual prototype environment by collaborating with cross-functional teams such as HW/SW Co-design, testing, emulation, firmware and software development. Support building simulation models to ensure first pass silicon success.
- Use of multiple execution platforms: system performance models, FPGA board, H/W emulator, HDL models
- Creating technical documentation and product collateral
- Partner with technical program management team members to interact with external development partners, suppliers and vendors
- Contribute to, analyze, review SOWs from vendors, supporting documentation, requirements set that meet the needs of internal stakeholders
- Technical skills:
- Proficient in object-oriented programming, with extensive hands on knowledge of SystemC/ C++
- Scripting (TCL, Python, Shell, Perl, etc)
- Experience in developing SystemC, TLM based models of IP blocks and/or CPU for the virtual platform of a SoC
- Experience in the use of modeling tools for performance analysis or hardware/software co-simulation
- Experience with Virtual Prototyping and System Level Design Flows and Tools (e.g. Synopsys Virtualizer, WindRiver Simics)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields (Self-made persons are welcome, please indicate your professional experience to equal)
- 7 years of experience
- Strong ability to lead and own technology objectives
- Significant experience with the use of programming tools for embedded systems (performance simulators, ISS, profiling tools, runtime, compilers, debuggers, etc.)
- Proficient understanding of vision, imaging or video applications, and the use of embedded processors (GP-GPU, DSP, FPGA, multi-core platforms)
- In-depth knowledge of DSP and MCU architecture and micro-architectures
- Familiarity with ARM AXI and CHI protocols
- Ability to create technical product specifications and translate those into leading edge implementations
- Ability to Work through ambiguity to make critical decisions, proactively mitigate problems, and ensure excellent technical work to achieve business results
- Basic knowledge of machine learning principles and frameworks
- Strong programming skills in C and C++, and assembler
- System-C or Chisel and RTL understanding is required
- Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills
- Valid US Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Moderate exposure to FPGA-based prototyping and emulation boards is a plus
- Basic programming skills in Java
- Experience with scripting languages like Python
- Experience with the use of Linux and Windows O/S
- Experience with SW development processes: project planning, version control, bug tracking
The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related education, skills, and experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $152,300-$194,100.
