The Daily News of Iron Mountain-Kingsford in Michigan's Upper Peninsula has an opening for a full-time staff writer. Applicants ideally would have a four-year degree in journalism, writing or a related field, but equivalent experience will be considered. Accuracy in reporting a must, along with curiosity about area communities and the ability to find and tell a story, not just provide meeting minutes or court transcripts. Job does involve some night and occasional weekend work; reliable transportation is required. Photography and pagination skills a plus. Health insurance and 401(k) available. Located on the Michigan-Wisconsin border, Iron Mountain is a prime outdoor recreation destination, winter and summer, yet only a few hours from Green Bay and Milwaukee.
