DESIGN ENGINEER (STEEL DESIGN & DETAILER FOR FABRICATION)

Orion Township, MI

OBJECTIVE

This position is based on computer aided design and best suited for a technical minded individual with an engineering or detailing background/education. This individual should be familiar with industrial type work including miscellaneous structural and building steel design / detail. Experience with structural modeling software is not a requirement upon hire. Applicant must be willing to learn modeling software for design and steel fabrication.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Minimum associate degree or equivalent experience/training required.
• Structural miscellaneous design work experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD design software required; Tekla modeling software is a plus; additional programs are a bonus.
• Automotive or similar manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Excel preferred.
• Ability to follow and contribute to internal processes & procedures (document control, etc.).
• Ability to participate and work in team atmosphere required.
