SRM has twelve leading fellowship-trained Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology specialists with expertise in infertility testing, treatment, male infertility (two on-site urologists), IVF, donor egg, donor sperm, artificial insemination, egg freezing etc. Additional services include acupuncture, counseling, infertility support group, genetics, tubal reversal, vasectomy reversal and fertility assessments for women concerned about reproductive aging. We currently have six locations in: Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Kirkland, Everett and Spokane.
Summary:
We are looking for a Sterile Processor that will sit out of our Seattle clinic. This will be a full-time, full-benefits, 40 hours a week position. Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:30am-6:00pm.
The Sterile Processor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sterility, and proper handling of medical instruments and equipment used in healthcare facilities. This includes decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and packaging instruments, as well as maintaining accurate records and following established protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety and infection control.
Responsibilities:
- Collects used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
- Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect medical instruments and equipment according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, and report any deficiencies or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assemble and package instruments and equipment for sterilization using proper techniques and materials.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, such as steam autoclaves, gas sterilizers, and low-temperature sterilizers, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to established parameters.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes, including cycle parameters, load contents, and test results, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all processed instruments and equipment, including tracking, logging, and labeling.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, surgeons, and supply chain personnel, to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as audits, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of sterile processing operations.
- Participates in orientation and training of new staff where applicable.
- Follow infection control protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the proper handling, storage, and transportation of sterile instruments and equipment.
- Ensures all patients are greeted with prompt attention and a compassionate attitude.
- Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to sterile processing, and participate in continuing education and professional development activities as required.
