East Bay Hardware is a small, locally-owned hardware/general store & garden center that's been at the heart of downtown life for almost 40 years. We're looking for a full time (35-40 hours per week) Assistant Manager.

The ideal person for this position is proactive but must be able to take regular direction from the General Manager and Operating Manager. This position is the go-between between the staff and the Operating Manager.

Being able to work well with a variety of personalities is a requirement for this role.

Training and free on-site parking is provided, and the store is conveniently located downtown near an I-26 exit and a bus stop.

Employee tasks:

• Receive daily requests from Operating Manager and create a task list; ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner by staff
• When General Manager isn't on site, handle the customer service and employee issues that arise
• Ensure the store stays organized and neat
• Receive weekly product shipments when the General Manager is out
• Make keys
• Mix paint
• Cut glass
• Operate cash register and assist customers
• Restock shelves and help unload weekly shipments

Hiring Qualifications:

• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Have reliable transportation
• Ability to use basic computer programs

Employee shifts:

• 8-9 hours daily between 7:15am-6pm Monday-Friday and 8am-5pm on Saturdays
