Overview:
The strategic sourcing analyst is responsible for developing the sourcing strategy and associated contracts for significant levels of non-labor spend in the range of 25 million to 40 million annually, including supplies, equipment, technology and purchased services with low to high complexity and risk. The incumbent will work to understand the needs of the stakeholders while providing strategic decision support and recommendations to maximize value and ensure supplier performance. The incumbent will deliver assistance in clinical improvements, cost savings, operational efficiencies, and/or added value by their involvement with cross functional stakeholders. Using fact/evidence-based, data-driven sourcing initiatives with strong market and competitive analysis, the incumbent will determine how to create leverage utilizing professional negotiations to secure the best quality, service, and cost for CM. The incumbent will be responsible for project managing the sourcing initiatives within the scope of the role, including development of appropriate sourcing tools, identifying supply alternatives and recommending the sourcing approach.

Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing Strategy and Contract Management - Leverage sourcing plan to guide project plan. Collaborate with business partners to understand upcoming business requirements including cost, service and quality specifications, encouraging product standardization wherever possible. Prepare for and manage contract renewals.
  • Supplier Relationship Management - Manage supplier relationship of key suppliers assigned to evaluate cost, quality and serviceability as well as issue resolution.
  • Development of Sourcing Plan - Work to understand the industry landscape, competitive landscape, and supplier options for the product categories assigned. Proactively analyze spend data to determine new areas of opportunity. Leverage external benchmarks and tools including but not limited to:
  • Relationship Management - Establish collaborative, value-based relationships with business partners, obtaining feedback on an ongoing basis.
  • Value Analysis Support - Assists Supply Chain Value Analysis staff with financial evaluations of opportunities. Develops product request form. Provides financial analysis for various products options. Provides alternative suppliers for desired product.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree Preferred and 1-2 years experience Strategic sourcing/procurement and/or contract processing experience strongly preferred (as buyer, value analysis, budgeting, sales in medical supplies and/or equipment) or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years experience Strategic sourcing/procurement and/or contract processing experience strongly preferred (as buyer, value analysis, budgeting, sales in medical supplies and/or equipment) or
  • HS diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years experience Strategic sourcing/procurement and/or contract processing experience strongly preferred (as buyer, value analysis, budgeting, sales in medical supplies and/or equipment)
Starting Pay:
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $30.73/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home:
This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will come onsite once a week at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
