Exciting projects worldwide include ride design, show design, dynamic structures, themed structures, complex static iconic structures, and complex static and dynamic aerospace structures. This position requires clear and concise communication skills to work closely as a team with both structural engineers and machine-design mechanical engineers solving complex problems and unique designs.

Celtic Engineering, Inc is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to execute and oversee detailed analysis and design of structural systems associated with traditional building design as well as amusement industry theme park structures and figures along with aerospace structures. In this role, you will assist Sr Project Managers and Upper Management with developing and executing work plans, developing of engineering proposals, tracking status your budget, tracking status of project tasks, and organizing the project team and technical workflow. You will provide support for various entertainment & hospitality multi-family industry clients and aerospace industry clients to solve complex engineering problems.

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering (required)
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures is desirable but not required.
  • Five (5)+ years working knowledge with SAP 2000, SAFE and ETABS software
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is desirable but not required.
  • Code compliant design experience
  • Ability to interpret and design to other codes and standards from other regions both domestic and international
  • Excellent and creative problem solving ability.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in a US state (required)
  • Ability to obtain PE license reciprocity in Florida within 6 months of hire (required)

A successful candidate for this position will: proactively plan and execute work with increasing levels of engineering responsibility (often serving as EOR and PM for the project), demonstrate engineering creativity to solve problems and remain on budget and on schedule, demonstrate flexibility/adaptability in project workflow & staffing planning to support the project and client needs while maintaining budget and schedule, adapt to changes in budget and schedule, and possess advanced oral & written communication skills. This position expects the engineer to work independently on tasks for which they are proficient, to further develop engineering and staff leadership skills, and to proactively communicate with staff and management. This position expects the engineer to work with some to minimal oversight on tasks for which they are knowledgeable and proficient.
