Pay range: $69,638 – $115,000 Depending on Experience

Basic Job Functions:

The Vulcraft/Verco Innovation Services Group is seeking qualified Structural Research Engineer candidates at the Research and Development facility in Fontana, CA. This position is instrumental in the development of new products, product improvements, and product applications.

Work with project stakeholders and customers to determine the direction of VVG product offerings.

• Communicate project status and direction to stakeholders and customers.
• Participate in the design and construction of test fixtures, specimens, and the execution of test programs
• Prepare data reports, data analysis, and engineering reports based on testing
• Develop product design tools and literature for use by both internal and external customers
• Education and training of both internal and external customers
• Provide support for customers, jobsites, and business development activities as required

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction related field
• Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain one
• Structural design experience
• Construction industry experience
• Fabrication capability to work with hand and power tools
• Must be willing and have means to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in research and development
• Knowledge of cold-formed steel design
• Proven laboratory testing experience
