When hiring our camp team we look for individuals who are a team player, communicate effectively with parents, campers and peers, have common sense, patience, and creativity is a must.

Camp is held at the Greensburg YMCA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of activities such as gross motor games and exciting art activities.
• Act as a role model for the children and other counselors at all times
• Be responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.
• Maintain supervision during summer field trips.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• High school diploma or GED and one of the following: 15 – 30 Early Childhood Education credits from an accredited college or university and one year previous experience working with children (1250 clock hours) OR: Two years previous experience working with children (2500 clock hours)
• Criminal clearances (Act 33), Child Abuse clearances (Act 34), FBI Clearances
• Physical exam and TB Test required
• Two letters of recommendation on file.
• Must complete all required YMCA training certifications, including: Pediatric First Aid/CPR , Child Abuse Prevention, Health & Safety Training, Fire Safety Training, Water Safety Training
• Physical Demands: The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
