Description:

Lead day-to-day operation of a cogeneration facility that uses hog fuel for providing 100% of the steam and electrical needs of the facility. Provide leadership for all department employees to improve safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost control, and production for the Boiler Operations department. Responsible for implementing and updating management and mesuremeasurementment systems to ensure continued improvement in power generation, water and waste handling. Steam generation and paper cycle operations.

• Operates monitors and maintains turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber plants, industrial wastewater treatment plants, boilers, motors, combustion turbines and associated auxiliary equipment.
• Review production reports daily.
• Implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime.
• Optimize recovery boiler operation and steam generation to maximize paper production and reduce downtime and costs.
• Communicate with other department managers to optimize mill production.
• Promote tean concept with supervisors and operations to assure continuity in reaching common production goals.
• Coach and develop team of 15-20 employees.
• Encourage a behavior-based safety process.
• Review environmental compliance measures daily.
• Initiate process improvement projects to eliminate emissions/releases.
• Develop annual operating and maintenance budgets and review monthly actual versus budget.
• Maintain asset management systems to iprove equipment performance and reliability.
• Ensure the training program for operators in current and appropriate taining levels are met.
• Participates as a member of the rotating Weekend Duty Team.

Qualifications:

• B.S. Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in Boiler Operation experience.
• Previous experience with Production Management System and Computerized Maintenance Management System required.
• Proficient in PI System (Process Information System)
• Good to strong computer skills.
• Previous boiler operations experience.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

• Minimally Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends with little to no notice.
• Wear personal protective equipment as required.
• May have exposure to environments high in humidity and heat
• May have exposure to outdoor elements when traveling between facilities.
• May have exposure to industrial/manufacturing equipment.
• May have exposure to loud noise.
• May be required o bend, stoop, climb stairs, ladders.
• Onsite presence is required.
