As a Surgical Technologist with SpecialtyCare, you will act as a member of the surgical team to provide safe and effective care for optimal patient outcomes. You will work in collaboration with the operating room team that includes; anesthesia, nursing, surgeons, and department administrative staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Sets up for procedure preoperatively, participates intra-operatively and cleans up surgical procedure post-operatively as a scrub nurse and circulator.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and application the Principles of Asepsis in creating and maintaining the sterile field.
- Performs sharp, sponge and instrument counts according to policy.
- Anticipates the needs of the Surgical Team preoperatively and intra-operatively
- Effective communication skills with regards to the operative team as well as patients
- Demonstrates knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Surgical Procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge of common as well as complex surgical instruments and equipment used for surgical procedures
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years’ relevant industry experience required
- Holds current certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); or completed a program for surgical technology accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP); or completed an appropriate training program for surgical technologists in the armed forces or at a CAAHEP accredited hospital or ambulatory surgical treatment center; or successfully complete the surgical technologist NBSTSA certifying exam.
- Must have a current BLS certification
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience
- Must have experience in General Surgery/ GYN Surgery/Urology and ENT Surgery, Plastics and Robotics
- Must have 1 year experience in Cardiovascular including Open Heart Procedures and/or
- 1 year experience in Orthopedics Including Total joints and Spines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
