The Woodmansee Group is a Retained Executive Search Firm representing a manufacturer of environmentally sensitive safety products. Founded in 1925, they are a leader in the industry and are seeking an SVP of Global Operations.

The successful candidate will have proven experience driving manufacturing process improvements that establish a data-based business value (i.e., adherence to Lean/Six Sigma) with at least 10 years of managing teams (preferably globally). Experience in metal products manufacturing with a knowledge base in CNC machining, welding, and assembly is strongly preferred.

Reporting Relationships:

This role reports to the President and will manage the global manufacturing, engineering and quality teams while also providing strategic leadership for the company.

Position Summary:

The Senior Vice President of Operations is an exciting role, driving transformation and results to support the organization’s growth strategy to achieve top and bottom-line results. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this leader will partner with the President, Leadership Team, and Board to deliver all aspects of manufacturing, engineering, and sourcing management. The candidate must be forward thinking with regards to capacity planning, long-term manufacturing strategy, capital investment and project execution.

The candidate needs to be a collaborative leader driven by operational performance improvement in a high mix manufacturing environment. The Vice President of Operations manages all operations activities including production, purchasing and facility maintenance. This position will lead and coordinate manufacturing across four sites globally. This will involve collaboration with sales and product leadership as the company drives new product production in each location to support local markets.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement executing on ideas from across the organization.

· Lead operations activities including production, purchasing, capital equipment and tooling investment, shipping and receiving, facility maintenance, cost control, operations analysis, and delivery performance.

· Continuously evaluate operations to implement opportunities to reduce cost and complexity while improving capacity, quality, and lead times to achieve business goals.

· Collaborate cross-functionally focused on aligning strategy to support business priorities.

· Support and manage the performance of the production manager, materials manager, and facility maintenance to ensure on-time delivery performance.

· Manage budget spend and production plans for impact to financial performance.

· Manage the strategic purchasing and materials management decisions to ensure the supply chain is supporting business demand, limiting disruption exposure, and driving cost savings with multiple sources, including leverage of the India JV.

Deliver manufacturing launch coordination and planning in conjunction with product management duties that provide transparency of launch status and effectiveness of launches.

Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.

· Establish an understanding of key technology trends that can be leveraged to gain and maintain leadership in a competitive marketplace. Transition these technology trends into advance technology roadmaps.

· Extensive experience motivating team members and coaching them through career milestones and progression. Proven track record of building high performing product development teams.

Pay: $200,000.00 per year
