The SYEP Project Based Learning (PBL) Facilitator will be supporting the workforce development department though direct work with youth ages 14-15 by being actively involved in Madison Square Boys and Girls Club mission of better preparing youth and teens as they make plans for postsecondary education and/or career aspirations through its Workforce Development Initiative. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a SYEP Project Based Learning (PBL) Facilitator to work out of our HQ offices located in Halem, NY.

This is a part time seasonal position working Monday through Friday in the morning and afternoon (additional hours available during Summer Programming).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the SYEP Project Based Learning (PBL) Facilitator position:

• Responsible for the facilitation of curricula and activities during the summer project-based learning experience for 14 and 15 year olds.
• Plan an engaging 6 week Project Based Learning experience with tangible project outcomes.
• Model positive youth development principals in facilitating workshops in a manner that is fun and engaging.
• Establish classroom norms and expectations.
• Provide guidance and support to students throughout the coursework of their PBL.
• Track the weekly activity of youth and submit by designated deadline.

Required Skills/Knowledge for the SYEP Project Based Learning (PBL) Facilitator (000) position:

• High School diploma required, some college course work in related field and a minimum of 2 years in a related field preferred.
• Highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
• Candidates must be able to work independently and have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
