AAC has an opening for a hands-on, experienced Systems Engineer to become a member of the Product Support team in Uniontown, PA.

Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed).
- Support and participate in technical activity
- Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
- May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
- Ability to work independently under supervision of others
- Provide regular reporting of progress and status
- Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
- Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
- Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
- Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
- May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

Position Summary
Responsible for analysis of requirements and development of engineering technical data products following MIL-STD’s and best commercial practices for both Hardware and Software products. Areas of application are across the AAC business lines and fielding of AAC developed products on US Naval vessels and submarines. This involves assisting in engineering evaluation of product designs, development of procedures, testing in both land-based and shipboard environments, and development of the test reports. Perform systems analysis to determine engineering requirements, analyze, organize, plan, and execute various phases of day-to-day maintenance/repair life-cycle supportability activities, and installation. Desired candidate will have practical experience with acquisition logistics, Alteration Installation Team (AIT) requirements and policies, and shipboard maintenance. Position requires critical analysis and strong writing skills and the ability to complete activities on time and budget.
Primary and Essential Accountabilities
- Research and evaluate supplier components with regards to performance, installation, operations, maintenance, and demilitarization requirements
- Develop acquisition and engineering support products for fielding of combat systems and trainers
- Analyze technical data and customer specifications to generate installation and test procedures
- Develop life cycle sustainment maintenance and support products for US Navy combat systems and trainers.
- Develop operating procedures and manuals for US Navy combat system products
- Develop maintenance procedures and manuals for US Navy combat system products
- Conduct installation planning and execution for AAC combat system products on surface combatants, submarines, and shore site facilities
- Develop technical specifications and analysis reports documenting results of operations, maintenance, and field service engineering activities
- May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required

Basic Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical discipline with minimum of 6 years’ technical experience
- Must be a US Citizen in order to obtain government security clearance
- Prior US Navy ST/ET/IT AEF with Level II Maintenance and 9502 NEC’s preferred
- Knowledge and familiarity developing GEIA & MIL-STD engineering and supportability products
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail; Meticulous
Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
- Soldering inspection/certification to J-STD-001 or equivalent, preferred
- Current or previous Fiber Optic Technician certification
- Knowledge of JFMM, AIT, SUBMEP, and hull modernization processes and requirements
- SIMO/SUPSHIP/SWFTS experience
- Experience with Linux a plus.
- Knowledge/experience with use of CAD tools a plus

- Sitting: up to 75% of time
- Travel: up to 20% of time
AAC works on a 9/80 compressed work schedule whereby employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks with every other Friday off.
