Full-time Systems/Software Engineer position in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) with a specific focus on unmanned surface vehicles.

This position will provide unmanned platform and combat systems SE and analysis support. Duties may include: (1) Developing systems engineering plans, capability description documents and performance specifications (2) Providing review and recommendations on combat systems integration technical issues; (3) Conducting risk management and assessments; (4) Reviewing requirements traceability and analysis; and (5) Providing technical assessments, evaluations, and analysis on system problems.

Ten (10) years of General Surface Navy Combat Systems engineering experience with at least five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
a) Engineering investigation and resolution of combat system operational issues resulting in system performance improvements
b) The development of methodologies, models, or simulations for conducting engineering assessment to AEGIS Weapon System (AWS)/AEGIS Combat System (ACS) performance; combat system performance data analysis, simulation/development and maintenance
c ) Development/maintenance of combat system element-level quality assurance and/or configuration management procedures
d) Computer program definition, design, development, test and multi-element integration
e) Combat System element-level and associated computer program documentation development/maintenance
f) Multi-element test plans/procedures development/maintenance
g) Exploration of new engineering war fighting capabilities for Carriers, Amphibious and/or Aegis ships;
h) The design engineering associated with Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), ABMD, AWS and/or ACS enhancements
i) Human Systems Integration engineering
j) System Safety

Experience with carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large deck, smaller amphibious ships or land based test sites is preferred.

Additionally, must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Two (2) years experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred. A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is always a plus.
