Overview

Summit Materials is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and experienced high-volume Recruiter/Sourcer to support our construction materials operations in the Salt Lake City market. This position is a unique opportunity to make a difference in a growing organization. This individual will find success in persistence, building relationships, working well in a fast-paced environment and being agile as needs and demands shift month to month.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work as a partner to the business, identifying needs, supporting TA processes, while building relationships with varying levels of management and Human Resources.
  • Understand basic metrics, fill rates, requisition tracking, and candidate experience.
  • Focus on funneling candidates, high level prescreening, and moving them swiftly through the hiring process.
  • Source, advertise, and connect with the community to continue to grow the pipeline of field and operations candidates in varying lines of business: Ready Mix, CDL Drivers, Asphalt, Aggregates, etc.
  • Strategize and plan using multiple resources and tools to fill open positions – maintaining a vacancy rate of less than 10% year-round.
  • Utilize proactive sourcing strategies to include indeed, LinkedIn, social media platforms, job posting partners, job fairs, databases, networking, etc.
  • Leverage technology to build candidate pipelines; screen candidates and streamline the hiring process.
  • Work with the overarching Talent Acquisition and Human Resource team members to ensure timely communications, candidate review, while elevating the hiring manager and candidate experience.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers, meet established key benchmarks for measuring effectiveness of recruiting efforts, and complete and review recruiting reports as determined by the broader team.
  • Support all recruiting systems and technology; facilitate training for managers and business partners, including the Applicant Tracking Tools (Arcoro BirdDog ATS).

Skills & Experience

  • High-volume recruitment / sourcing experience ideal
  • Process oriented with ability to leverage multiple systems
  • Previous experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Knowledge of both effectively posting and searching Indeed
  • Minimum of 1 year in construction materials or related industry
  • Understanding of basic recruitment / sourcing processes
  • Sense of urgency and passion for working in a fast-paced high-volume environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites to include Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to partner with hiring managers in a collaborative way to achieve shared outcomes
  • Experience leveraging social media to effectively network, advertise and/or engage candidates
  • Experience building diverse candidate pipelines and engaging underrepresented candidates

Compensation Range:

$70,000 to $95,000
