JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Tax Roll Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Tax Roll Administration

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The essential function of the position is to perform data entry of information through a custom appraisal software program. This position is responsible for accuracy, efficiency and retrieval of processed data.
This position provides direct support to the Tax Roll Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs data entry related to tax roll changes using word processing, spreadsheet or database commands and formats material as required.

2. Reviews discrepancies in data received and requests clarification from the Tax Roll Manager or other personnel when needed. Performs data verification routines in accordance with department policy and procedures.

3. Reviews Department of Revenue edits and makes necessary changes.

4. Assists with mass mailings when necessary.

5. Interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data.

6. Performs daily office tasks such as proofing, filing, copying, maintaining records and other similar duties by following organizational and departmental procedures.

7. Able to proficiently use computer, calculator, fax machine, and multi-line telephone system.

8. Employees hired on or after February 1, 2016, must be a tobacco-free person, both on and off the job, for at least 1 year immediately preceding application and maintain same tobacco-free status throughout the term of employment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Tax Roll Specialist Pay Range 17

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
  • Clerical and computer data entry experience working in a property appraisal setting preferred.

(Comparable training, education or experience may be substituted for above minimum qualifications)

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to insurance provider.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, sitting for long periods of time at a computer, lifting and/moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 30 pounds, acceptable vision (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without correction), ability to answer telephone, communicate effectively and provide information requested.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
