The Team Leader, HIM ROI, under the leadership of the Supervisor, HIM ROI, will provide support to ROI Specialists at one or more hospitals. The Team Leader will monitor daily operations, coordinate work assignments, serve as a resource for process questions, perform the duties of the ROI Specialists as needed and will serve as the escalation resource for customer service concerns in the absence of the Supervisor, HIM ROI. The Team Leader will provide expert knowledge for operational questions regarding ROI. The Team Leader will apply hospital and departmental policies and procedures, HIPAA Rules and Regulations, and state and federal guidelines when trouble-shooting issues and concerns. In the absence of Supervisor, HIM ROI, the Team Leader, HIM ROI will serve as the HIM contact for internal and external customers, and escalate issues that are not able to be resolved to the Supervisor, ROI, Manager, HIM ROI, or the HIM Director as applicable. The Team Leader, HIM ROI will recommend process improvement opportunities and keep the Supervisor, HIM ROI informed of staffing, process, and technology concerns.

Education:
Associates Degree in Health Information Management or healthcare-related field.
For internal applicants, Associate's Degree or two years of work experience in ROI and has exceeded the JHHS quality and productivity expectations for the previous six months.
Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:
RHIA or RHIT preferred.
Work Experience:
One year of experience in Release of Information in a Health Information Management Department required.
