POSITION SUMMARY

The Spokane Tribe is seeking a qualified Technical Director to handle the audio/visual and technical systems for the entertainment venues and the property. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a casino or hotel environment, report to the location daily, and be available on weekends, evenings, and holidays. The candidate will primarily be focused on the live entertainment venues but will assist all audio/visual needs for the property.

Spokane Tribe Casino, situated in Airway Heights, Washington along the picturesque plains of Eastern Washington, opened its doors in January 2018. The property consists of over 670 slots, 12 table games, a dedicated non-smoking slot area, a Caesars Sportsbook, deli, Three Peaks restaurant, and coffee bar. Spokane Tribe Casino is currently undergoing its third expansion phase and will be expanding its gaming floor, adding indoor and outdoor entertainment venues, as well as a 176-room, 4 Diamond hotel.


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the duties and responsibilities of the Technical Director:

  • Report to the property General Manager and be assigned tasks and duties that support the operations and balance the workload of the General Manager.
  • Oversee, plan, and manage the technical aspects for all live entertainment events.
  • Manage all audio/visual and technical needs for the property.
  • Assist with the programming, care, and maintenance of all audio/visual components throughout the property.
  • Manage the entertainment technical team including any contract workers with respect to live shows.
  • Manage all load-ins and load-outs for shows.
  • Maintain all audio/visual components to ensure maximum life expectancy of each component.
  • Work to ensuring flawless and professional execution of events.
  • Manage internal and external team of production managers and coordinators.
  • Always maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Prepare show advances for each assigned event, ensuring all technical requirements and specifications are procured prior to the event through working with applicable property leaders.
  • Lead on-site personnel to execute the need of the event as written and expected in advance.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in live event production management to include large scale concerts, festivals, and other large-scale events.
  • Must have prior experience working in a Hotel/Casino Resort.
  • Must have prior experience leading an entertainment technical department minimally as a Senior-level manager.
  • Experience setting up and running AV production equipment (such as audio consoles, video switches, wireless mic systems, broadcast cameras, video walls, lighting etc).
  • Candidate must be able to interact with guests and possess a high degree of interpersonal skills.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, the Director of Operations has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Employment is contingent on receiving and maintaining adequate licensing, including any required gaming license (Class A Gaming License issued by the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission).
  • Must learn and ensure policies and procedures are being followed per the departments' Internal Controls.
  • Must adhere to the Spokane Tribe Casino Employee Handbook and ensure staff is following policies and procedures.
  • Must adhere to our customer service standards by providing excellent customer service.
  • Must interact with Guests and other Team Members in an upbeat and friendly manner.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Casino.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not encouraged or permitted to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco products.
  • Uphold high standards of ethical behavior, demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of problem gambling, and have knowledge of the Casino's programs to address problem gambling.
