Position Description:

This position serves as the Assistant Director for Residential Technology. Oversee technology initiatives for University Housing and the Residence Experience (University Housing) as the Tier 1 for the office. Serve as the primary coordinator working with Internet Service Provider vendor for preventative maintenance and repairs for 1800 data drops and approximately 1050 routers for office and residential student population, as well as cable streaming for lobbies and Hall Directors. Responsible for managing resident access to residence halls, with more than 2800 beds in 10 residence halls. Responsible for developing and maintaining the department's website infrastructure. Responsibly for auditing and maintaining University Housing technology inventory and replacement schedule. Serves as the primary coordinator for contracted data system and cloud servers that process the applications, assignments, and billing for approximately 4000 resident students. Responsible for the hiring and supervision of Program Coordinator for IT. Serve as point of contact for the vendor and manage all work cell phones and lines used by University Housing. Communicates with PeopleSoft vendor, university network staff, and serves as the focal employee for University Housing's data systems. Serves as a liaison with Information Technology Services (ITS) on policy and procedures related to student residents. Serves as a liaison with University Housing's vendor for cable streaming and other related issues. Serves as a liaison with university finance and ITS staff regarding computer and data security. Serves in the appeal role for residents who have violated computer security policy. Perform other duties as assigned. Salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and upgrade the occupancy management system

  • Research and negotiate housing database solutions and other software needs

  • Coordinate residence hall awareness and enforcement of copyright issues with ITS

  • Supervise Program Coordinator for IT

  • Collaborate with university financial and ITS staff to oversee department's data security and compliance with ITS policies and procedures

  • Oversee the automated billing process of University Housing residents with the Bursar's Office

  • Managing department website infrastructure, technology inventory, and computer needs (including purchases and upgrades).

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Mercury operations management system; Experience with Lenel Access Systems; Experience with managing Windows Operating Systems

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
