TEEP Clinical Consultant – Summer 2023 Job at Trinity Boston Connects
Over six weeks (June 26th – August 4th, 2023) under the direction of the TEEP Program Director and TBCC Clinical Director, the TEEP Summer Clinician will:
Consult & Support TBC program leadership (2-3 hrs weekly)
· Hours to include time needed for onboarding and pre-planning meetings before TEEP orientation, during programming, and post-programming debrief meeting time TBD.
· Onboarding and orientation to TEEP programming
· Weekly meetings with TEEP Programmatic Leadership where the clinician will provide support to staff in their efforts to provide programming that is grounded in trauma-informed, social-emotional learning and youth development.
· Regular Supervision with TBCC Clinical Director frequency TBD based upon programmatic needs and experience of the clinician providing services. Objective: to provide clinical supervision around the mental health and wellness needs of TEEP youth and staff.
· Be available to assist in identifying and making needed mental health or community-based referrals, complete corresponding documentation, and perform other duties as assigned by TBCC Clinical Director and TEEP Director.
Support youth workers in the TEEP (3-4 hrs weekly)
· Attend TEEP orientation week to build rapport with TEEP LDP (Leadership Development Program) youth leadership staff
· Lead a weekly LDP support space: Support LDP staff in their efforts to grow as young leaders providing trauma-informed and social-emotional learning to middle school students. Example topics: SEL; communication; group cohesion, beloved community, etc..
Milieu Support: TEEP middle school youth (2-3 hrs weekly)
· Support of Programmatic Milieu will involve:
– modeling trauma-informed care & SEL learning
– consultation and support around trauma-informed youth development and social-emotional learning practices
– Check-ins with LDP staff, middle school youth, teachers, or families
– Leading or participating in circles or workshops on mental health and wellness, mindfulness, etc.
Skills and Qualifications
· Preferably be a licensed LMHC, LICSW, Ph.D. or PsyD in psychology with a current license to practice independently as a mental health professional in the state of Massachusetts
· Minimum of two years’ experience in individual, group psychotherapy, or community or school-based mental health services for youth and families (preferred experience with youth & families of color)
· Preferably bi-lingual (Spanish, Haitian, or Cape Verdean Creole)
· Enthusiasm for youth work, youth workers, and working as a team player in collaboration with others to support youth development and leadership.
· Experience working with youth in urban settings
· Knowledgeable and experienced provider of social-emotional, trauma-informed, or restorative justice learning experiences and practices centered around youth development.
· Experience in maintaining HIPAA security & privacy practices and quality assurance
