We are seeking an individual, who has demonstrated a willing commitment to these values, holding them in high regard, to join our team this summer season as a Temporary Library Assistant. This is a temporary position, with no benefits, expected to last through the summer only.

• Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Maintains the appearance of the Library, answers patron's reference questions and assists in the location of reference material and the use of the library equipment.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining their assigned area including weeding of the collection, maintaining order on shelves and recommending new purchases.
• Assists with all children's programming including Summer Reading Program, storytimes and special events.
• Provides computer assistance with children and youth and manages children's computer areas.
• Records monthly statistics and maintains records.
• Designs and produces flyers, posters, brochures and other marketing and promotional items for library events.
• Regular attendance required.

• Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
• Previous customer service experience required, preferably in library environment.
