The Ecumen Lakeshore community includes 100 independent living and 40 assisted living apartment homes, 20 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services as well as short-term rehab and post-hospital care private rooms to care for up to 60 patients along the picturesque shore of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota.
The Therapy Services Coordinator supports the daily department needs for a large team of therapists who provide services within a 60 bed short term rehabilitation facility and outpatient department. This support includes responsibilities within the department office, therapy equipment, assisting with scheduling, helping therapists with treatments and facilitating simple exercise with some residents.

Responsibilities:
The Therapy Services Coordinator supports the therapy department’s effectiveness and efficiency to program development, quality improvement, and contributing to the delivery of cost effective care. The Therapy Services Coordinator contributes to problem solving in order to enhance the department and therapist productivity along with providing quality customer service to the patients and families. This position also complies with the ethical and professional standards of practice and work under the direction and guidance of licensed therapy provider(s).
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the therapists and therapy manager to schedule therapy sessions, communicates with patients and families as needed for upcoming appointments, communicates to IDT and provides appropriate patient transportation in the facility to and from therapy and wellness activities as directed.
- Assists with patient scheduling, administrative tasks, and maintains the treatment environment and equipment ensuring the therapeutic space is safe and in operating order.
- Assists therapists in patient-related activities, such as treatment setup/preparation, assisting with transfers and standing activities, and patient observation.
- Performs routine, standardized exercises with patients or residents individually or in an exercise group as directed by a therapist.
- Ensures therapeutic equipment is ready for use by performing scheduled cleaning of equipment, reporting any unsafe conditions, keeping equipment area organized, and carrying out all infection control protocols keeping the environment safe for patient use.
- Other duties as assigned.
Therapy Services Coordinator
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including being able to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events.
- Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in home health, hospice or senior care.
