Job Summary
The Traffic Controller is responsible for performing various tasks in a transfer station including directing traffic at the transfer station.

Principal Responsibilities
To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

• Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Ensure proper PPE is utilized, as well as compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures are adhered to consistently.
• Manually picks up windblown paper and other items from the transfer station.
• When there is traffic at the transfer station, the traffic director is stationed at the transfer station entrance to direct the traffic. Directs the flow of trucks. Communicates with the drivers verbally or by hand signals.
• Manually separates metal, white goods, lumber and cardboard from trash on tipping floor at transfer station.
• Perform cleaning duties related to plant equipment and general housekeeping.
• Report system problems immediately to management.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
• Other duties as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

• Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.
