JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Listen and transcribe audio recordings into digital documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

• Listen to recordings and transcribe those recordings to text files

• Ensure accuracy of the transcribed text

• Produce all documents using approved formatting and notation
• Complete transcriptions in a timely manner, reviewing grammar, punctuation and spelling prior to submission
• Correct any errors or inaccuracies in a timely manner
• Assist with day-to-day clerical functions as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or SKILLS

• High school diploma required
• Ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading Minimum 60WPM
• Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
• Excellent verbal communication, listening, and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Ability to work with a variety of people and personalities
• Familiarity with different transcription software a plus
• Fluency in English or the preferred language

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a stenographic machine, computer keyboard, calculator, and general office equipment.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must me able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.
