Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of a Transportation Electrical Inspector are to perform Quality Control inspection for electrical work on transportation projects including signal systems, conduit placement, interface with utilities as needed, high voltage installations, coordinate with others including the Resident Engineer, contractors, other inspectors, utility representatives, and other stakeholders. The Transportation Electrical Inspector is responsible for coordinating all electrical inspections on the project, interfacing with the contractor and documenting all work for the specific activities they are responsible for. Also provides supporting documentation for permits, daily activities, progress pay estimates and photos. May also assist and work with other disciplines to accomplish his/her work.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years experience in electrical construction inspection with experience as an electrical inspector for high voltage installations.
• Understanding of GO 95, National Electrical Code, and localized electrical standards and requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with HDR's vehicle policy.

This position will be subject to a pre-employment drug test and drug and alcohol testing during the course of your employment based upon HDR's Drug Testing and Drug Free Workplace Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Accredited/Certified electrical training, Journeyman electrical license, or Construction Management or related degree desired
• Experience/knowledge of inspection for other highway facilities is desired
