Position Title: Transportation Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt, Full Time
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Operations
Employees Supervised: All CDL Drivers.
Position Summary: Develops and maintains an efficient routing system for Retail Rescue, Agency deliveries, Mobile Pantries, Food Drives, Fresh Produce pick-ups, (CSFP) Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Care and Share and Just in Time deliveries. The Routing Logistics Manager supervises all CDL Drivers ensuring that the Drivers meet all governmental and Feeding America food safety as well as US DOT regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of transportation, including but not limited to supervision of departmental staff, review and sign-off on driver logs and time sheets, equipment acquisition, maintenance, and necessary performance reports, and Feeding America policies.
- Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules and government regulations.
- Planning, organizing and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company standards.
- Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of HCFB’s fleet.
- Serve as the primary transportation liaison with other departments to review and fulfill their requests to expectations of HCFB.
- Collaborate with other departments members to formulate and implement transportation -related procedures.
- Oversee the utilization of technology (IQ4) GPS Tracking system and (Smart Sense) Truck Temperature Devises to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide adequate systems of quality assurance to ensure a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Effectively communicate and interact with coworkers, managers, and customers/clients.
- Maintain files of the driver’s temperature logs, cleaning schedules, vehicle inspection logs and mileage sheets.
- Manage retail pickup and delivery routes in coordination with programs department and the retail rescue coordinator.
- Promoting safe work activities by conducting truck safety audits.
- Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of HCFB’s FLEET
- Prepare and hold monthly Driver’s Meetings to discuss updates and safety.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

- Valid Florida CDL driver’s license.
Specific to Position
- High School Diploma and five years minimum experience in transportation management required.
- Food banking experience preferred but not recommended.
- Maintain ServSafe certification.
- Experience in driving Trucks, forklift, and electric pallet jacks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
- Computer literate in Microsoft applications.
Working Conditions:
This position requires the employee to work occasionally on weekends. Work is performed in a hot, humid warehouse most of the day, significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Work conditions during the summer months can be extremely hot, and during the winter very cold. Workspace could be very dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated in the building. Work involves lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, picking up and moving objects up to 30 to 50 pounds.

Pay: $56,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
