Transportation Operations Cooridnator Job at Randstad
The Domestic Transportation Coordinator will engage and manage the daily operations at a site level for all modes of transportation. They will also be responsible for overseeing and addressing service failures and continuous improvement exercises and projects. This role will work in collaboration with the Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs), our shipping partners and the strategic home office team. The ideal candidate will have logistical transportation experience and should have a fundamental understanding of distribution centers and their processes. They will have the drive and communication skills to develop strong relationships with business partners and internal customers to ensure success.
Overall
- Act as the main point of contact to our facing dealers for any Transportation related topics
- Regularly meet with carriers to discuss and review performance
- Assist with implementing strategic projects
- Collect and analyze data for business insights and recommendations
- Use LEAN to drive performance and continuous improvement between carriers and PDCs
- Lead and execute strategic projects to help reduce costs and maintain service levels
Dedicated Delivery Service
- Address Dedicated Delivery Service failures with the local teams to Communicate failures and contingency plans to key stakeholders
- Regularly meet with carriers to discuss and review performance o Prepare on-time delivery and service quality reports
- Assist home office in capacity and route engineering exercises
Air Freight
- Audit inbound consolidated air freight
- Make record of and submit claims for damaged freight
- Audit and follow up on missing shipments to the PDC
Sea Freight
- Audit inbound shipments to ensure quality of product
- Schedule and level load inbound container volume with dray provider
- Manage relationship with dray provider ensuring service and targets are met
- Assist in yard management to ensure sea containers do not accumulate resulting in charges
- Make export bookings via carriers online tool
LTL/FTL/Parcel
- Ensure and audit processes and procedures are being adhered to within the PDC
- Use data to drive fundamental changes in process for cost saving measures.
- Monitor and track PDC outbound spend to ensure correct shipping methods are being used
- Audit packaging utilization and provide feedback/coaching
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the following: Operational management, transportation management, vendor management, customer service
- A fundamental knowledge of transportation modes and methods with a detailed understanding of logistics and supply chain as a whole
- Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system procedures
- Project Management: Knowledge of project management processes, scope, milestones and budget management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
