What does a trivia host do?

Sporcle Events is the largest trivia company in the country offering in-person events at bars and restaurants.
This is a PART-TIME position. New hosts start with one evening per week and receive paid training. Basically, you'll be Alex Trebek with flair, interacting with players and venue staff with the goal of building your very own "trivia party" that players look forward to every week. Each event lasts approximately 3 hours.
We ask for at least a 6-month commitment, though we have hosts who've been at their venues for years.
Note: We do not offer seasonal/summer employment.

What's a HireVue?

HireVue is a video interview tool. You'll answer a few questions (that you'll receive in advance) that highlight why you'd be a good trivia host. We ask that you complete this interview within 3 business days of your application.

What are the qualifications?

• YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD
• You should be fun and energetic
• You must be moderately computer savvy and have a laptop that is HDMI-capable along with ad-free access to a music service or downloaded playlist
• You must be dependable and able to commit to a weekly event for at least 6 months
• You must be able to commit to a weekly event for at least 6 months and able to host at least 8 out of every 10 consecutive events
• You should be comfortable in front of a crowd, have excellent communication skills, and be able to multi-task
• You must be able to reliably transport equipment weighing approximately 35 pounds

What’s the pay?

New hosts earn a minimum of $60 per 3-hour event (host pay increases based on average event participation). There are opportunities to earn more by hosting additional weekly and private events!
