We are seeking a qualified energetic individual for the position of Teacher for children with autism spectrum disorder for a small private school, located on a horse ranch for the 2023-2024 school year. Students attend 4 days a week, with teacher preparation time an additional one-half day. Salary is commensurate with full-time pay while the actual work requirement is less than 40 hours per week. The teacher will have the support of a behavior therapist daily while students are in session. We provide training in the behavior change principles of Applied Behaviorn Analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

· Developing and adapting individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each of their students.

· Using special tools and equipment provided to stimulate an interesting learning environment.

· Using special skills to teach children and implement the behavior change principles of Applied Behavior Analysis

· Plan and maintain classroom curriculum.

· Actively monitor students for growth and development

· Attend to children’s social and emotional needs.

· Maintain data and educational records.

· Plan, implement and post weekly written lesson plan of daily activities and academic areas.

· Give guidance and direction to teacher assistants and volunteers.

· Updating parents on their child's progress and giving recommendations to promote a better learning environment

· Implement behavior plans as developed by the licensed BCBA.

· Attend scheduled staff training and implement new skills.

Minimum requirements (Please do not apply if you do not meet ALL minimum requirements):

· Bachelor’s Degree

· K-8 teaching certificate (or deemed Highly Qualified by the state of Arizona)

· Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

Qualifications:

· Graduate from a Teaching program

· Bachelor’s Degree

Skills and expectations

· He/she must possess good and effective communication skills to be able to determine the needs of each child and help him/her when necessary. The need to be attentive to and be patient with children at all times is also important.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team

· Adopt and follow all school policies

· Participate in training to improve skills and knowledge

· Manage and support students with challenging behavior

· You will be jointly responsible for the safeguarding of children in our care

· Undertake any other duties within the competency of the post as determined by the Head teacher/administrator

Pay: $37,500.00 - $49,500.00 per year
