BASIC JOB RSPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain UR logs for the inpatient hospital.
Confer with medical, clinical, and nursing personnel to determine legitimacy of treatment and length of stay.
Communicate with facilities and billing through scans and email to maintain an electronic record. Receive the following from each facility: Insurance verification, face sheet, initial assessment, psych eval, and med list.
Responsible for tracking and appealing any denials.
Acts as a liaison between team members by coordinating unit communications and managing information to include: the medical record, supply requests, and data and order entry.
Assists with the processing of Physicians Orders for admissions, appointments, arranging transportation, discharges, etc. as directed by the Director of Social Services, the Charge Nurse, and/or DON.
Assists in maintaining the medical record after patient discharge by breaking down charts and refilling charts according to discharge protocol. Is able to properly file and store discharged charts in an organized manner for identification and retrieval.
Assists in the billing process by accurately documenting insurance information of the patient on the unit.
Able to operate office equipment, verbalize use and function, demonstrate/ safe operation and to recognize and report malfunction.
Assists treatment team with other office functions as requested.
Coordinates inventorying, ordering and stocking of clinical and office supplies as directed by the Administrator.
