This is a Monday-Friday automotive technician/dismantling opportunity and offers great earning potential. If you love taking cars apart, this is the position for you! Salary Range $40-$50K

Job Summary:

The dismantler is responsible for moving designated vehicles from the inventory area to the dismantling area. The dismantler is to verify that they have the correct paperwork that goes with the vehicle. They are to verify that body parts designated to be removed match the description given by the inventory personnel and they are to correct or cause to be corrected any discrepancies that exist between the condition of the part and that which is in the inventory system. When required, test engine and transmission, if designated for inventory, and notify inventory of any discrepancies. Remove designated body and mechanical parts and apply appropriate stock tags. Initial and apply quality assurance tags to any inventoried part. Drain all fluids and capture any Freon. Remove the vehicle from the dismantling area, and parts to designated warehouse locations and core locations. Return paperwork to inventory. Participate in the quality audit of performance once per quarter.

Essential Job Duties

• Dismantle vehicles safely while maintaining high productivity.
• Label and tag parts for stock.
• Check the quality and product type of the parts.
• Test the engine and all electrical parts including the battery.
• Drain fluids and oils into environmentally safe containers.
• Perform cuts.
• Fill out the required paperwork.
• Observe all safety and security procedures and report any unsafe conditions.
• Keep the work area clean and free of debris and parts.
• Operate tow motors
• Operate torches.

Qualification

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 75 lbs. repetitively
• 1-3 years of hands-on automotive repair/dismantling experience or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic understanding of the function of each part of the vehicle
• Own and maintain all the necessary tools
• Ability to operate a cutting torch (provided)
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb
