Nature of Work

Under general supervision, assists Veteran Service Officers in securing federal and state benefits for veteran clients. Completes tasks to prepare Veteran Service Officers for hearings held by the Veterans Benefits Administration. Performs office organization tasks that facilitate service to our veteran clients. Greets clients and prospective clients by phone and in-person, and manages access to VSOs. Assists VSOs in the completion of filing claims with state and federal agencies on behalf of veterans.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in responsible public contact work involving services for veterans.

Substitution: College hours, related business school or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
