Job Summary:

We are looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Boston, MA.

How will you have an impact?
In the Veterinary Technician role, you can do that by being responsible for the daily care of laboratory research animals and working closely with the veterinarians to perform health assessments, treatments and maintain records.

What you will do!
In the Veterinary Technician role, you will perform health assessments, maintain records and provide treatment to the animals on protocols.

• Animal handling and restraint, weaning, tail snips, ear tagging, blood and other tissue sample collection, injections, treatments, surgical preparation, pre-, peri- and post-operative observations and euthanasia.
• Coordinating and processing orders for animal medications (anesthetics, analgesics, antibiotics, etc.) and will document distribution of medications and provide guidance on recordkeeping.
• In this role you will provide training for the staff as it relates to animal care and health. Additionally, you will conduct routine inspections of animal holding rooms to ensure the health and well-being of the animals and will prepare and submit written reports, monthly billing summaries (drug orders, overcrowded cage charges) as requested.

Who are we looking for?

A.A./A.S. in veterinary technology or equivalent college level program.

6 to 12 months rodent care (mice) and handling experience as well as veterinary skills required.

Preferred: B.A/B.S in animal service. AALAS Certification at the ALAT or successful achievement of within 1 year required. CVT or LVT

The pay for this position is $26-27 per hour
