Essential Functions of the VP of Permanency and Emergency Services:
- Staff Leadership: Directly manage Program Directors and selected Associate Directors and Supervisors, coaching and guiding them to insure that they successfully attain their annual objectives;
- Finance: Responsible for the sound fiscal management of all programs, identifying ways to increase revenue and decrease costs, analyzing financial reports, and working with program and finance staff to prepare, monitor, and achieve operating budgets;
- Program Quality Development: Responsible for the development of new programs and the expansion of existing programs that align with the agency's Strategic Plan and the Northeast IL annual operational plan;
- Relationships with Community Customers and Partners: Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and customers, including local CYF agencies, local CoC Boards, and other partners in the region.
- Human Resources: Develop a healthy, positive work environment that fosters employee engagement, as measured by employee engagement scores and improved staff retention;
- Fund Raising: Work with the Development team members to help secure funding for agency programs.
Qualifications for the VP of Permanency and Emergency Services:
- A mature individual with the ability to articulate and implement the values of Valley Youth House and the philosophy of the Emergency Services and Independent Living Programs.
- Possess sound judgment and strong leadership and work skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to function well as a team member.
- Never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
- Required to possess a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, a minimum of three years' experience working in community services agencies, with a minimum of 5 years of management, supervisory and leadership experience.
- Proficient in computer knowledge & skills (i.e. Microsoft Windows software); familiarity with the operations of external databases and Google Suite is desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing: Occasionally
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds: Occasionally
- Moving from one worksite to another: Occasionally
