Position: Vice President of Finance and Operations

POSITION OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE
The Vice President of Finance and Operations is responsible for managing all finance functions of the organization and supervising a team member. Additionally, the position ensures the efficient and effective administrative process, including but not limited to facilities management, human resources, and IT services. This position is key in identifying areas of improvement, implementing best practices, and leveraging technology to streamline business processes, maximize efficiencies and minimize risk to the business. Additionally, the position will be responsible for fostering a culture of financial transparency and collaboration by empowering staff members with necessary financial knowledge and tools to make informed decisions and achieve success.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees all accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, maintaining general ledgers, monitoring cash flow and reserves, month-end close processes, fixed assets, and monthly financial report preparation.
- Develops and implements best practices and internal controls to increase efficiency and productivity through technology and automation.
- Facilitates annual audit and files required tax forms.
- Prepares and analyzes accounting records and financial reports, advising leadership on financial stature, internal controls, and financial issues.
- Reports payroll to third-party processor, PRO Resources.
- Leads the Finance and Administrative Specialist.
- Collaborates with the President and Executive Vice President to create an annual budget ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provides guidance and support to team members in developing and monitoring their budgets, including forecasting and analyzing actual versus budgeted performance.
- Serves as internal human resources liaison by coordinating with outsources HR partner, updating employee policies, maintaining employee benefit plans, and keeping employee files.
- Serves as internal IT liaison, coordinating with software vendors and IT management providers to maintain accounting software system and other IT systems across the organization.
- Oversees facilities management including office supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships.
- Other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Extensive understanding of all areas of general financial accounting.
- Demonstrated success in managing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience in implementing best practices and automating processes through an organization.
- Proficient with financial software and systems, including payroll processing, accounting and reporting.
- Ability to solve complex problems and maintain extreme attention to detail.
- Accepts responsibility and takes accountability for actions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven effective leadership and team management skills.
- Working understanding of general human resources principles.
- Appetite to learn and grow
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years related work experience
- At least 2 years management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Nonprofit or Foundation experience preferred.
- QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
- IT experience preferred.
- HR experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
